Build-A-Brain Lab, College of Charleston
Nick Hindy, PhD, Principal Investigator. Assistant Professor of Psychology.
We are a cognitive neuroscience lab studying human neuroanatomy and how people learn it. Our research covers hippocampal memory, white matter connectivity (diffusion tractography), and neuroanatomy education. We develop open-source software and 3D-printed brain models for teaching the brain.
Supported by National Science Foundation Award #2315440, "Show Me the Brain!!" (IUSE program).

Our Lab
Neural Connectivity
The majority of neuroscience research concerns gray matter brain structures. Our lab is focused on the white matter structures that enable connections between our gray matter structures in order to carry out functions.
Learning Through Connections
Our lab is concerned with enhancing education by studying learning techniques, specifically, learning through connections.
What’s Next?
The Build-A-Brain Lab is currently conducting multiple studies. These include studies related to learning from 3D models, learning through ChatGPT, and learning through artistic modums.
